    The Platinum Sideloader is a compact and closed robot automation with a high capacity for the automatic loading of starting material or semi-finished products in one or two CNC machines. This can be both milling and lathes machines. The Sideloader is a solution for both types of CNC machines.

    Fully continuous productions of series and single pieces

    The Platinum Sideloader is standard equipped with a product loading module, but can also be expanded with a pallet loading module. A standard Platinum Sideloader makes it possible to automate several different series of products together without the intervention of an operator. The BMO Platinum Sideloader can easily be expanded, for example, with integrating a second CNC machine to increase the productivity even more.

    By adding the pallet handling module, the robot can place serveral fixtures in the machine. Mutiple product formats can be processed by the CNC machine unmanned.     The standard Platinum Sideloader is equipped with a product loading module and a very flexible modular drawer system. For the business operator wishing to obtain more output from a CNC machine, BMO Automation also offers the option of loading pallets with fasteners in your CNC machine. This option provides greater flexibility and allows several different product formats to be processed in combination on unattended machinery. Such versatility enables 24/7 production of product series of various sizes.

    The pallet loading module also allows products to be fixed manually on pallets and then loaded into the CNC machine by the robot. This option gives you even greater flexibility by automating the handling of highly complex fastening equipment. The robot is equipped with a gripper exchange system. that allows the robot to disconnect its gripper and attach to its pallets

    The Platinum Sideloader comes standard with a product loading module and a very flexible modular drawer system.

    The operator can fill this drawer system with the material to be processed. The robot autonomously slides these drawers in order to pick up raw materials and load them into the CNC machine. After processing, the robot places the processed products back in the drawer and slides them to the middle position. The operator can then pull out this drawer to the unload position and empty the finished products with which it is filled. These drawers may therefore be loaded and unloaded during operation without interrupting the production process.

    The product drawers can be provided with different grids, optimizing the available space for your products. This allows you to store as many products as possible in the Platinum Sideloader for the highest possible number of spindle hours. The variable drawer system also makes it possible to automate products with different heights.

    With product loading from BMO Automation you are flexible, modular and able to gain a guaranteed higher output.

    BMO Automation is a total solution provider. In addition to robot automation, we also ensure that your CNC machine is prepared and equipped with a zero point clamping system which is developed by BMO. This “chuck plate” is equipped with pallet installation control and is tailor-made for the machine table of your CNC machine. The communication between the robot and the CNC machine is provided through a customized interface developed by BMO. In addition, we provide various other options to make the work as easy as possible for the operator.

    Simple and User-friendly

    The Platinum Sideloader is operated by means of the BMO Intelligent Control System. This software makes it unnecessary to use the robot’s teach pendant. The operator operates the Platinum 50 sideloader by means of a specially developed Multi-touch screen (IP67) mounted on the front of the robot cell and connected to a high-end control system. No extensive robot knowledge is required to operate the Platinum 50 sideloader.

    Production of a new job is commenced by entering different parameters, product dimensions, product quantities, gripper selection and machine clamp properties. The very intuitive operating procedure is so simple that a new job can be created within one minute. The software not only offers great advantage when initiating the process but also when monitoring it. Remaining times, cycle times and processed products are calculated and, if you opt for the optional mail module, can also be retrieved remotely.

    The manual operation of the machine clamp, robot gripper and access door of the cell can also be controlled via the touch screen. In addition, the speed of the robot can be controlled by the software and various software options can be implemented.

    To ensure optimal flexibility, BMO Automation offers a choice of many different gripper options. There is a gripper solution for every product.

    BMO has developed the servo jaws to enable the greatest possible flexibility. Selecting this option means that the parallel or three-point gripper is fitted with automatically adjustable gripper jaws. By means of a simple operation, the operator is able to enter the product’s size into the BMO Intelligent Control, after which the servo gripper automatically adjusts to the entered size. As a result, multiple product sizes can be loading in a fully automated manner as part of a single continuous process. Gripper fingers no longer have to be switched manually.

    With a parallel gripper, products can be grasped in the range of 0 to 164 mm or 109 to 274 mm without the intervention of the operator.

    A three-point gripper can grab round products in a range of 3 to 196 mm or 144 to 310 mm without operator intervention.

    More and more CNC machines are delivered with an automatic door or can be equipped with this option afterwards. BMO Automation can provide an automatic door module for new and old CNC machines that do not have this option. This can be either the automation of an existing door or the installation of the automatic door module developed by BMO.

      Reference: DMG MORI DMU50 integrated onto a BMO Platinum Sideloader DMG MORI DMU50 3de Generatie - BMO Platinum Sideloader The DMU 50 3rd generation of DMG MORI is a compact milling machine that has already been linked several times to a Platinum Sideloader from BMO Automation. Product and pallet loading is made possible thanks to this robot cell. The control of these machines can vary between Heidenhain and Celos / Siemens. Through a customized interface from BMO Automation, communication between CNC machine and automation runs smoothly. Loading a high variety of dimensions of raw materials through the drawers or on pallets is no problem for the Platinum Sideloader. Due to the different grids on the product drawers, this can be easily programmed by the operator and the BMO Platinum Sideloader can be set to work undisturbed for many spindle hours. Hedelius Acura 65 EL - BMO Platinum Sideloader The Hedelius Acura 65 EL is a compact five-axis milling machine that is linked to a Platinum 50 Sideloader for this customer. In this version, product and pallet loading has been chosen in which both product jobs and pallet jobs are milled together. The pallet change station on the top drawer allows the operator to prepare pallet jobs while the CNC machine is producing. This will keep the CNC machine down to a minimum. Mazak Variaxis J-600/5X - BMO Platinum Sideloader For several customers, BMO Automation has linked a 5-axis Mazak Variaxis J-600 / 5X to a Platinum Sideloader. This five-axis Mazak milling machine with both product and pallet loading can be configured using the BMO Robot cell. It has also been made possible to automatically change grippers, so that the right products can be taken from one of the seven drawers. The Mazak machine is equipped with the extensive tool magazine several times, just like in this photo. This increases flexibility, producing an almost unprecedented number of different product series, all with their own tools, without manual tool change.
