    The IRIDIUM is the most flexible entry-level CNC machine automation on the market. With the IRIDIUM, you benefit from a complete robot system at a minimal investment.     Your production will run in single batch mode as standard. The ideal way to get used to an automated system. The IRIDIUM 25 Frontloader can be upgraded with Multi Batch capabilities.

    For business owners who want to obtain even more output from their CNC machines, BMO Automation also offers the option of loading pallets with fixtures in your CNC machine or the option of loading collets on your CNC turning machine. Both options provide greater flexibility and allows several different product formats to be processed in combination on unmanned machinery. Such versatility enables 24/7 production of product series of various sizes.

    Collet Module

    If you opt for the collet module, the robot will be equipped with a gripper exchange system so that it can attach a special collet gripper. With this special gripper, the robot can take collets from the rack above the product trays and place them in the collet chuck in the main spindle or sub-spindle.

    The standard version of the IRIDIUM 25 Frontloader has a flexible table for product storage. The capacity of the IRIDIUM 25 Frontloader can be increased by opting for 2 flexible product drawers.

    Standard product table:
    The operator can fill the product table with the material to be machined. After machining, the robot puts the machined products back on the table. The operator can then clear this table filled with finished products.

    Optionally 2 product drawers:
    The operator can fill this drawer system with the material to be processed. The robot autonomously slides these drawers in order to pick up raw materials and load them into the CNC machine. After processing, the robot places the processed products back in the drawer and slides them to the middle position. The operator can then pull out this drawer to the unload position and empty the finished products with which it is filled. These drawers may therefore be loaded and unloaded during operation without interrupting the production process.

    The product drawers can be provided with different grids, optimizing the available space for your products. This allows you to store as many products as possible in the IRIDIUM Frontloader for the highest possible number of spindle hours. The variable drawer system also makes it possible to automate products with different heights.

    BMO Automation is a total solution provider. In addition to robot automation, we also ensure that your CNC machine is prepared and equipped with a zero-point clamping system which is developed by BMO. This “chuck plate” is equipped with pallet installation control and is tailor-made for the machine table of your CNC machine. The communication between the robot and the CNC machine is provided through a customized interface developed by BMO. In addition, we provide various other options to make the work as easy as possible for the operator.

    Simple and User-friendly

    The IRIDIUM Frontloader is operated by means of the BMO Intelligent Control System. This software makes it unnecessary to use the robot’s teach pendant. The operator operates the IRIDIUM Frontloader by means of a specially developed Multi-touch screen (IP67) mounted on the front of the robot cell and connected to a high-end control system. No extensive robot knowledge is required to operate the IRIDIUM Frontloader.

    Production of a new job is commenced by entering different parameters, product dimensions, product quantities, gripper selection and vice properties. The very intuitive operating procedure is so simple that a new job can be created within one minute. The software not only offers great advantage when initiating the process but also when monitoring it. Remaining times, cycle times and processed products are calculated and, if you opt for the optional mail module, can also be retrieved remotely.

    The manual operation of the vice, robot gripper and access door of the cell can also be controlled via the touch screen. In addition, the speed of the robot can be controlled by the software and various software options can be implemented. With the installation of each new BMO robot cell, we provide 2 half-days of training as standard so that all operators can start working with the automation immediately.

    To ensure optimal flexibility, BMO Automation offers a choice of many different gripper options. There is a gripper solution for every product.

    BMO has developed the self-adjusting gripper to enable the greatest possible flexibility. Selecting this option means that the parallel or three-point gripper is fitted with automatically adjustable gripper fingers. By means of a simple operation, the operator is able to enter the product’s size into the BMO Intelligent Control System, after which the self-adjustable gripper automatically adjusts to the entered size. As a result, multiple product sizes can be loaded in a fully automated manner as part of a single continuous process. Gripper fingers no longer have to be switched manually.

    With a parallel gripper, products can be grasped in the range of 0 to 164 mm or 109 to 274 mm without the intervention of the operator.

    A three-point gripper can grab round products in a range of 3 to 196 mm or 144 to 310 mm without operator intervention.

    More and more CNC machines are delivered with an automatic door or can be equipped with this option afterwards. BMO Automation can provide an automatic door module for new and old CNC machines that do not have this option. This can be either the automation of an existing door or the installation of the automatic door module developed by BMO.
